Jack was excited to wear his "4" shirt on the plane even though it was a week early.
The boys were invited into an airplane cockpit for the first time (thanks, Jet Blue!).
Down in SC, the kids were excited to see one another. Quinn was especially interested in Blake. Blake was a bit uncertain at the start but really warmed up to "bebe" or "Kwi".
Story time with Grammy was popular...
as was roof deck time...
as was childrens songs on the computer time with Papi!
The beach was a different story. The little Yanagi girls can't get enough and the little Yanagi boys are quite uncertain. By the end of the week, Jack was willing to run into the water up to his ankles, and he would tell us, "I'm having fun at the beach!" Blake, on the other hand, enjoyed the sand but preferred to stay far away from the water. He didn't really even like sitting in the sand letting the water lap his toes.
The kids made themselves at home.
Blake enjoyed the attention from his older cousins.
Jack and Emmie were fast friends, "Mommy, I have a new friend!"
We made it to the Charleston aquarium one day. It was a great place. We got a great family photo...
Fed the sting rays...
And generally had a lot of fun...
The roof deck became even more popular when we introduced Popsicles!
The routine was generally beach mornings...
And pool afternoons (after nap)...
Emmie and Jack particularly liked playing with Auntie Marilyn, who was the "bad lady" in their imaginative play.
With some other activities sprinkled in.
The whole crew sang to Uncle Jeff for his birthday.
As usual, Jack was lucky to get birthday presents through the week.
And a fabulous cake on Friday night!
Saturday, Jack's actual birthday, was our travel day home.
It was a great week! Sleep schedules were definitely off, but the cousin time was wonderful! Can't wait to see Blake and Quinn playing together next summer.
