Family trip to Aruba

A 10am departure from Logan on Dec 26 felt quite manageable (no early wake up times required).  We weren't sure whether all the kids and all the luggage would fit into the new car, but the car is big and daddy did a good job packing.

It was Max's first airplane trip, and he did a great job. The big boys did pretty well too. Jack is easy with his iPad. Blake is more into the iPad now, but not for watching shows...more for playing apps that require adult assistance. The taxi ride to Divi was quiet as everyone was tired!

Everyone woke up upon arrival, however, ready for the first swim in the pool!

The boys grew more and more confident in the swimming through the week.

We did do some beach time.

The back patio was a popular play place!

There was a pirate scavenger hunt!

Max put his toes in a pool for the first time. He was pretty nonchalant about it. He didn't try out the beach because we didn't spend much time there...the pools were much more popular with the Yanagi boys.

Max enjoyed chilling in his summer clothes.

The big boys enjoyed a grocery shopping trip.

Everyone enjoyed poolside cocktail hour.

And lounging around time.

Mommy and Daddy got in one nine hole round of golf with Grandpa and Uncle Kevin (big thanks to Grandma and Aunt Elizabeth for sitting!).

Of course we visited our favorite meal spots...Smokin' Joe's...

And Pizza Bob's...

The boys enjoyed time in the car all lined up. Jack did a great job taking care of Max.

We had an 8pm New Year's Eve toast so everyone could participate!

The Wilcox crew left on Friday, so the Yanagi family had one solo dinner.  The boys were well behaved at the restaurant!

The trip home was long but largely uneventful. Max did poop through both of his long sleeves outfits, so he landed in 30 degree Boston wearing a summer romper.

The trip was more a change of scenery than a relaxing vacation, but it was wonderful!
