After 2 hours in the hospital, we had started the process, and they sent us away for a few hours, so we went to see Rise of the Planet of the Apes! At 3am my water broke and we started Pitocin around 5am. I made it to 9am without the epidural, but boy was I glad to have that medication! The day was slow going, but very relaxing. Tad read in a rocking chair and I spent most of the day snoozing. We weren't ready to push until 9:30pm, and then it took 2 1/2 hours for Jack David Yanagi to arrive, but boy was he worth the effort! It was amazing to finally meet the little guy at 12:01am on Mon, Aug 8 (evidently he did not want to share Uncle Jeff's Aug 7 birthday). Our friend and doctor, Sarah, was amazing, making a special trip to the hospital to deliver Jack.

The nurses at Beth Israel were also great people and resources, making our stay at the hospital quite comfortable. I could have stayed in the hospital for weeks. Tad was ready for a real bed after 3 nights on the pull out chair! Jack enjoyed meeting a lot of family members in the hospital (Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Elizabeth, Grammy, Papi, Aunt Maria, Grace, Uncle Jeff, Auntie Marilyn). When Wednesday rolled around, it was time for us to check out of Hotel Beth Israel.
