Waiting for Jack

Waiting for Jack was not an easy task - especially as we got closer and closer to his July 31 due date and then passed the due date!

Luckily we kept pretty busy through the first couple weeks of July because after we settled down and completed the nursery, that's when the waiting got really tough!

Our first project - closet organization - did begin well before the due date.

For the nursery itself, we started with a nice bright rug and picked out the rest of the room decor from there. Thank you Grammy and Papi for the beautiful crib, Gigi for the glider chair, and Grandma and Grandpa for the new SLR camera! Tad did a great job assembling the crib and changing table while I oversaw the process. By the way, there are SO many thanks yous to SO many people - we were really quite prepared for Jack's arrival from an 'equipment' perspective!

The other exciting development as we prepared for Jack was the trade in of our white 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee for a beautiful black 2008 BMW X5 (picture later in Jack's coming home blog).

Our last round of golf pre-Jack was mid-July at MCC.

In the last few days and weeks leading up to Jack's arrival, we went on countless walks, ate dinner out and saw a lot of movies! After we passed Jack's due date of July 31, the date of induction was set for Sat, Aug 6. Despite a few very motivating pep talks from Dad (Tad) about how Yanagi's are on time, Jack decided to wait to be induced.
