At 7 months, Jack weighed 18lbs 4oz and was 28” long.
Jack started his 8th month with a great stay in NH with Grammy and Papi while Mommy and Daddy went skiing in Utah with Lowell and Stephanie. Everyone had a great weekend!
Grammy and Papi send us daily updates from Jack, and it’s clear to us that Jack has a great time in NH (Exhibit 1 below).
Unfortunately, poor Jack has fallen back into a cycle of sickness. He has had a big phlegmy cough. In addition, we think he is going through teething. The poor guy is very fussy and wants to be held all the time. He’s such a laid back baby usually, that the fussiness is really hard to see. We feel so badly for him! Luckily, there's plenty of time for sleeping off illness at school (and Jack's not alone with that sleep strategy - he's the crib at the back left).
It’s incredible how well Jack sits now. We can put him on the floor with complete confidence that he will not tip over. It’s wonderful! With some great March weather, we were able to practice sitting outside on a nice Sunday evening. `
Jack also experienced his first power outage. It seemed to bother Mommy more than baby. We were without power for 2 overnights. The highlight of the 2 nights was Mommy sitting in her car charging her phone while baby slept upstairs. You may ask what Daddy was doing? He was on a business trip in Chicago!
We made a special visit to CT to see Grandma and Grandpa Wilcox and Great Grandma and Grandpa!
In the month of March, Jack became the proud owner of a new high chair! We figured it was time to get one when his Bright Horizons teachers told us that Jack refuses to eat his solid food unless he’s sitting in a high chair. He says, “come on, ladies, do you really think I’m that barbaric? I’d like a proper seat and eating environment!”

In the mornings, while Mommy and Daddy get ready for work, Jack is a very good boy and entertains himself on our bed.
At the end of March, Mommy and Jack went on their first big solo plane adventure – a trip to North Carolina to visit the Bates girls (Daddy was in Foxwoods with the JW Childs crew)! The plane flight went very well – Jack is such a well behaved baby and mommy had some time for relaxation prior to boarding.
Sarah and Kaylin and Jack were fast friends. Jack enjoy hearing Sarah say, “I looove baby Jack.” Jack also enjoyed the attention showered on him by Sarah and Kaylin. Mommy didn’t have to feed Jack all weekend – it was taken care of by the ‘big girls!’

When it was picture time, Sarah and Jack were very focused, but Kaylin wasn't certain she wanted to participate.
For the group photo, Jack was checking out his new friend, Sarah, and Kaylin had moved on to more exciting things.
It was a great weekend!
