Jack's Eleventh Month

In June, Jack turned 10 months.

Jack likes to show off all his new teeth.

Jack and Mommy went to John Harvard’s for a Staples event after work one day.  Jack was in a great mood.  He and Mommy had a great time laughing and clapping.  Clapping is a new skill of Jack’s.

Jack has also started really moving around in his little mini-bath tub.  It’s a good thing we’re moving to a new place with a more child-friendly bath tub!

Jack attended his first birthday party.  It happened to be in one of our favorite places…Sparrow Park!  Jack also had pizza for the first time.  He really liked playing with the yellow balloons.

The family visited Auntie Marilyn in her new apartment.  Jack approved of the new place…particularly the great measuring cups.

Daddy had a great first Father’s Day.  We opened gifts while Jack had breakfast, and then, later in the morning, we had a great family brunch at Hammersley’s.

We had a great family reunion in NH toward the end of June.  Grant, Megan, Reese, and Emmie were in town from NC.

We think that Emmie likes Jack a bit more than Jack likes Emmie.

Jack did really enjoy playing ball with Uncle Jeff.

Check out Uncle Grant's children holding skills!

The family made a pretty good attempt at sushi making.  Certainly not as pretty as Gigi's, but tasty!

We also noted that it is getting more and more difficult to orchestrate a nice looking group phoot!

When Jack started laughing, mommy told daddy that the sound of Jack’s laughter was her favorite thing in the world.  Recently, daddy asked mommy if that was still her favorite thing and she replied emphatically, “of course, yes!”  Just a few nights later, however, mommy found a new favorite thing.  After Jack’s bottle, mommy or daddy puts him in his sleep sack, inserts his pacifier, and picks him up to sing a bed time song (Hush Little Baby and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star are some of the ‘go tos’).  Recently, when mommy and daddy pick him up, he nuzzles his head into his parents shoulder.  This is mommy’s new favorite thing (in addition to the laughter!).

The last week of June was a big week as we moved out of 20 Braddock Park and closed on both the old place and the new place on the same day (June 29)!  Grammy and Papi were wonderful to take care of Jack during the moving and closing period.  Mommy and Daddy were able to spend 2 wonderful nights at the Liberty Hotel in Boston with some great meals at Scampo and L’Espalier.

Mommy and Daddy reunited with Jack for 4th of July week, spending the first half of the week in CT with Grandma and Grandpa Wilcox and then the second half of the week back in NH with Grammy and Papi.  On July 1, we were in East Hampton celebrating Grandma’s birthday.

Jack enjoyed the visit. He got a cute new outfit and had a great time playing in the water.

He really liked the sand!

The Quandt’s came to visit for the 4th of July and all everyone had fun playing (after Chase and Tad did the hard work).

We did also make it to Great Grandma and Grandpa’s for a visit.

There’s something magical about Grammy and Papi’s house (he has seemed to have a lot of ‘firsts’ there – like rolling), because on Friday, July 6, Jack started crawling for the first time – a real hands and knees crawl.  Since then, there has been no looking back.  Jack’s crawl was immediately strong and second nature.  We think he may just wait until he’s really ready to do something new, and then, he does it perfectly!
