Yanagi family weekends look very similar to one another. Our weekends away give us a break from the routine and make us excited to get back to it.
Friday night consists of dinner time for the boys (and a glass of wine or beer for mommy and daddy), bath time, a bit of play time (typically pretty loud and rambunctious), and a couple of books in bed. We sing Twinkle Twinkle and ABC and then it's bedtime for the boys.
Mommy and Daddy then enjoy wine, sushi, and shows (our max nowadays is 2.5 shows).
Saturday the routine is shows for Jack (starting anywhere between 6am and 7am) and a family breakfast of pancakes at 8am (Blake wakes up at 7 or 7:30 and Mommy and Max wake up at 8). Post-breakfast, there is some activity which varies by time of year: walk or run and picnic in the park, soccer class and lunch, swim class and lunch, museum and lunch, farm visit and lunch. Some favorite lunch spots are Panera, CPK, Cheesecake Factory, Legal Seafood. After lunch, it's family nap time. After family nap time and snack time, we try to have some more out of the house time like a park visit or a run around the mall. A babysitter typically arrives during the boys' dinner time and mommy and daddy head out for a dinner out.
Sunday is the same routine but with eggs for breakfast, different activities, and a family dinner.
We enjoy our family weekends.
